Ever wanted to feel how the free heel skiing is? Telemark technique course is suitable for those who have previous knowledge of skiing and want to try something new. It is a bit more exhausting than normal skiing since you are doing a squat every time you do a turn, but it is rewarding in the end!

Telemark skiing combines elements of Alpine and Nordic skiing. A combination that is perfect if you want to challenge longer alpine ski tours. The style is using 'free heel' bindings which do not fix your heel to the ski. Therefore, you make turns with both knees flexed forward one behind the other. As the skier goes into the turn, he/she lowers onto the ski as going in and rising back up coming out of the turn.
The goal of the course is to develop your skills as a Telemarker and give you the tools so you can enjoy your time in slopes. Firstly, our instructor makes an introduction to the day and you test and adjust the equipment. Then you will warm up and prepare for different techniques and exercises. The level of training will be adjusted to the skiing experience of the participants. Apart of the goal of learning how to telemark, it is also important to have fun while doing so!
The duration of the course is 2 hours, and it is for max. 6 people. A private lesson can be booked for an additional fee. Røldal skisenter have a fantastic location with some of the best snow that you can find in the Hardanger region. Hope to see you in the slopes!
