Surrounded by beautiful and majestic mountain that ranges both to the east and to the west, the national parks Folgefonna in the west and Hardangervidda to the east with Sørfjorden in between. Over time this fjord, especially during winter (winter months), has proven to be a good spot for fishing with spawning fish such as coastal cod and sea lyre.

The only physical challenge you might be facing on this tour is the descent into the boat and the ascent back onto the pier after the tour. Especially at low tide this might require climbing a wooden ladder which can be slippery when wet. Please inform your guide of any medical conditions that might impact you during your tour or in an emergency.

We recommend being at the meeting point 10 minutes before the official meeting time. Please use the bathroom before the tour.

The Fishing is one of the activities where weather does not matter. We run the tour in all weather conditions and every type of weather has its moments of beauty. Of course, we will adapt our driving style to the wind, rain and wave conditions.
You should adapt your clothing according to these conditions. Even though the floatation suits keep you nice and warm, be aware that you do not move much, and the wind will cool you down quite a bit.
Nevertheless, the Fjord Fishing is the perfect bad weather alternative and always an experience.

You can choose to start your tour in downtown Odda or by Hotel Ullensvang in Lofthus. Once in the boat, you lean back and enjoy the ride, jump the waves, until we arrive to our fishing spots. With a bit of luck, you might spot some porpoise whales or even one of the golden eagles nesting by the steep cliffs along the fjord.
Over 4 hours your skipper/guide takes you to some of the most interesting spots and attractions by the fjord and shares many fun facts and fascinating stories about the glacier, farming tradition of the area and much more.
We will use most of the time fishing, but we will also work with how to process the fish after catching it. There is room for everyone to fish, but also to relax by a bonfire and enjoy the view of the fjord. In most cases we do 'catch and release', but if you want to bring your self-caught fish back home, you are welcome to do so.
