how to get here
Our base is located at the P2 parking in Skjeggedal, the main trailhead for Trolltunga. It is a 20 minute drive from the town of Odda. This is where you meet your guide and get equipped for the hike. If you are driving yourself, please allow extra time for parking, as capacity can be limited during peak season.
Shuttle buses run frequently between Odda and our base at P2 Skjeggedal during the main season. It is an efficient and eco friendly way to reach the trailhead. If you are visiting between October 15th and June 1st, staying at Trolltunga Hotel includes free transportation to the meeting point as part of your accommodation package.

To ensure you arrive in time for your safety briefing, we recommend checking the latest timetables. Local buses connect Odda with the P2 parking, and taxi services are available for a more flexible schedule. Check Skyss.no for public transport or contact Odda Taxi directly to book your ride.
The nearest airports are Bergen Airport Flesland (BGO) and Haugesund Airport (HAU). Both are approximately a 3 hour drive or bus ride from Odda. If you are arriving at Oslo Airport (OSL), prepare for a scenic 6 hour journey across the mountain plateau to reach us.

Therefore, we highly recommend joining a guided tour since your guide will show you how to use the equipment correctly and safely and assist you whenever you are facing challenges. People with prior experience will benefit from special tips and tricks. Through stories about local history, culture and nature, your guide will help you see your surroundings with fresh eyes.

Yes, all people in the group must have climbing experience. You cannot "guide" persons without climbing experience. People without climbing experience, must join the guided tours.
No previous climbing or Via Ferrata experience is required for this activity. However, you should feel fit and comfortable with heights
No, you do not need certification. Norway is an honest country that also trusts in the honesty of its visitors. If you tell us, you and your travel companions have the experience needed, we will believe you. After all it is your life that depends on your experience. Do not risk, just to save money!
It is not mandatory, but it is recommended to use a guide in the period of 1 October – 31 May. This is due to uncertainty related to weather, snow, rivers, which previously have led to several rescue operations.
