Key information
To access the cabin you have different options. If you are driving/private car, you can book a parking at the Mågeltopp/P3 parking. This parking costs 600 nok per day.
You can also park at P2 parking in Skjeggedal/500 nok per day, 700 nok for overnight parking. And then take a shuttel from P2 to P3. Shuttel costs 130 nok one way. Also if you travelling public, you must arrive at P2 parking and then take the shuttle to P3. This offer is avaible in the period 3rd June – 30th Sept.More info about schedule for the shuttle busses and other info, you find on the webpage of Trolltunga Norway.
These costs are not a part of the stay at the cabin. If you are planning to hike to Trolltunga, the cost of parking and shuttel will still be a part of your tour. From the P3 parking you have 1 km hiking until you reach the cabin. This 1 km is along the trail to Trolltunga, so next day you have 1 km less to walk! Before arrival send an email to mail@trolltunga-active. com, an we will resend more info about the stay at our cabin.
If planning the hike to Trolltunga be aware that the conditions in the mountains are unpredictable. They can change from minute to minute. Temperature can be deceiving as the wind plays an important role in how cold it feels. Similarly, the snow conditions have a great impact on how easy or hard the hike gets.
A general thumb rule is: prepare for the worst conditions but do not overload your backpack, weight matters greatly when it is about saving energy. Use the onion look: layers that can easily be taken on and off. On a sunny day remember that the snow reflects the sun light which makes it stronger – suncream and sunglasses are essential!
We do not cancel tours due to bad weather. Even if the conditions look harsh, they can also turn out to be much better once we reach the mountains. The only times we cancel is when the bad weather becomes dangerous weather. We will inform you in case of cancellation. Please read our cancellation policies for more information.
The cabin has 3 available double rooms and an annex, capacity of maximum 8 person. Its an old fashion stily bathroom, not a watercloset.
Canbin has all kitchen facilities, and a nice open fire.
