Adventure information Trolltunga Via Ferrata


• Duration approx. 8-12 hours • 2x14km, 800m ascent • The tour starts with 6km. off road cycling.


Meet up by the Trolltunga Active Base in Skjeggedal, at 07:00.


Requirements:

-Good physical condition.

Please inform us of any medical conditions like asthma, epilepsy etc.

-Good cycling skills.

-This is not a hike for people with troublesome knees or strong fear of heights

-Min. age: 15 yrs.

We encourage you to join the Trolltunga Active information meeting at Trolltunga Hotel in Odda by 21:00 the evening prior to your tour. Our guides will inform you about the hike, equipment needed, weather forecast and more.

Nice to know

You need:

·         Wind and waterproof clothing

·         Hiking boots

·         Base layers/woollen layers

·         One warm layer

·         A backpack of minimum 35 litres

·         A warm hat/beanie

·         Big lunch consisting of nutritious and easy to eat food (like sandwiches).
Snacks and protein bars are not real food, but a nice supplement.

·         Minimum 1 litre of water

·         Sunglasses

·         Bring all of the above and try to pack as light as possible.

It is possible to rent jackets, pants, boots, and backpacks at the Trolltunga Active Base in Skjeggedal. Climbing equipment and bicycles are included in the price.

 

·         The normal hike follows the main trail; you walk on your feet 14 km to Trolltunga and the same way back.

·         On the via ferrata you cycle 6 km from the starting point, walk from the bikes up to the start of the via ferrata route, climb about 250 meters up to the main trail, walk the last 3 km to Trolltunga, and follow the main trail back.

 

No. The cycling is a very long and important part of the tour. It takes to much time to walk the road we are cycling on and we need that time for climbing.
