Get ready to (water)fall in love! The scenery and waterfalls will simply take your breath away. The path through Husedalen – the valley of waterfalls - is one of the most beautiful hikes in Norway. Four gorgeous waterfalls are located close to each other along the hiking trail from Kinsarvik up to the Hardangervidda mountain plateau.

About the activity

The tour starts with riding electrical bikes through the orchards in Ullensvang, with over 500 000 fruit trees. Here the farmers grow cherries, plums, apples and pears which they sell and use to make delicious juice and cider. After roughly one hour on the bike, you will get to see the first waterfall, Tveitafossen. Here we park the bikes, and the hike starts.

We continue upstream and soon enter the Norwegian forest passing old trees, mossy stones and furry ferns, almost like in a fairy tale. Soon you get to see the other waterfalls - Nyastølsfossen, Nykkjesøyfossen and Søtefossen. Once we reach a small clearing with traditional cabins, we enjoy the lunch with the outstanding view on the waterfall.

On the way back, we retrace our footsteps back to Kinsarvik and return with e-bikes to Lofthus. In the summer season, it is possible to visit one of many farmers’ kiosks where they sell fruit and other treats on our way back.

Weather

In Norway there is a saying that “There are no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing”. Sometimes the bad weather turns out to be the most special: It is more mysterious, it creates a spectacular light play between the sun, clouds and rain, it makes you feel alive.

The weather here on the west coast changes fast and therefore we only rely on the weather forecast 1-2 days ahead of the tour. We hope for the best but prepare for the worst conditions.  A good tip is to use the onion look: layers that can easily be taken on and off to adjust your temperature.

If the “bad weather” is so bad that we consider it as dangerous we cancel the tours. We will inform you in case of cancellation. Please read our cancellation policies for more information.

What to bring
  • Water, lunch and snack for approximately 6 -7 hours
