About the activity

Join Our E-Bike Tour in Ulvik!

Experience the breathtaking beauty of Ulvik, the home village of renowned poet Olav H. Hauge. As he beautifully said, “The world is a beautiful place if you only see it.”

On this exhilarating e-bike tour, we’ll ride along the scenic road between Ulvik and Granvin. After 8 kilometers, we’ll turn onto a charming gravel road that leads us to the stunning Solsevatnet lake. Here, you’ll find an abundance of picturesque spots perfect for capturing unforgettable moments. We might even pause for a delightful lunch by the lake, soaking in the serene surroundings.

After our break, we’ll make our way back toward Ulvik, cycling downhill towards Ljono through a rich cultural farming landscape renowned for its apple orchards. Ulvik is notable for kickstarting the cider adventure in Hardanger around 2016, making it a hub for apple fruit farming and cider production. As we ride, you can admire the lush apple trees that have become a defining feature of the area.

As an added bonus, we have the option to visit Syse Gård, a local cider producer, where you can indulge in a 'Spekeplanke' (a platter of cured meats) and a 'Siderplanke' (a platter featuring their delicious cider).

Don’t miss this opportunity to explore the beauty of Ulvik and its surroundings while enjoying a unique culinary experience! Join us for an unforgettable adventure!

Weather

Even though you are visiting Norway in the summer, be aware that the weather conditions are highly unpredictable. They can change from minute to minute. Temperature can be deceiving as the wind plays an important role in how cold it feels. You might start your hike with summer temperatures in the valley and hike up the mountains where there are still big patches of snow. On rainy days low temperatures and cold winds can make the hike quite challenging, even in summer. On a beautiful day sunny day, you need to keep in mind, that you are very exposed on the mountain, make sure you prepare for hours out in the sun and stay hydrated.

A general thumb rule is: check the weather forecast, prepare for the worst conditions but do not overload your backpack, weight matters greatly when it is about saving energy. Use the onion look: layers that can easily be taken on and off.

We do not cancel tours due to bad weather. The only times we cancel is when the bad weather becomes dangerous weather. We will inform you in case of cancellation. Please read our cancellation policies for more information.

If you are the only person booked on a tour, we will ask you to move your booking to another day. If this is not possible, you will be refunded. You can wait until the evening before the hike to see if there are any last-minute bookings. Alternatively, if you really want to go and cannot reschedule, you can pay for a second ticket.

Where and when is the last chance to book a tour?

Last chance to book a tour is the evening before the hike before 6pm. It might be possible to book after this, but that requires enough spots available. You can still show up at the tour meeting and see if there are any free spots.
